I understand how people can find it irritating to hear someone use words outside of their correct context but all this nonsense about how "People who are not from a certain culture should not speak the language of that country" seems a bit bigoted don't you think.
I utterly adore learning words! English words, Norwegian words, and yes even Japanese words. I also like using those words (in their correct context of course) in my every day conversations. I saw no harm in it as other cultures mix languages in their conversation. Germans and Japanese are good examples of this.
On top of that! I work in a tourist shop in a very popular U.S. city and we get Japanese tourists in the shop ALL THE TIME. Knowing a bit of Japanese comes in handy. As well as knowing little bits of other languages as well.
Using words incorrectly can be corrected. BUT! Saying they oughtn't use them at all prevents correction.
